Wullie Meekison was born on the 29 January 1942 at Bellshill Maternity Hospital to Fred and May Meekison. You were brought up in Mabel Street then in 1949 the family moved to Pladda Street, Motherwell with your brothers Jim, George, Lindsay, and sister Moira.
At the age of 5 you started Glencairn Primary School.
Then at 12 you attend the Central School. (Attended that's a laugh you preferred to play truant down the clyde).
Wullie was also a keen footballer and a member of the Boys Brigade.
At the age of 15, Wullie worked in Williamson's for a short time until he was aged to start in Lanarkshire Welding Company as an apprentice welder.
We've all heard of Bob The Builder but you.were known as Wullie The Welder.
On the 31st July, you married your first love Cathie Carr. After you wed you stay in Arran Road. The following year you became a father when your daughter Valerie was born. Then in 1967 you moved to Kylemore Crescent, Mothewell. On the 5th June 1968 you once again heard the sound of tiny feet when your youngest daughter Jacqueline was born.
All your days, you have been a good grafter and provider for your family. You have worked up and down the country in places like Aberdeen, Ardeer, Newcastle, Workington and Northern Ireland to name but a few. Even when your family was very young you'd work away from home for weeks and months at a time and on the odd occasion when you were out of work you'd pass your days doing jigsaw puzzles, pottering about in your garden or going for long walks.
On the 8th December 1992, you became the proud grandfather of Jacqueline weighing in at 8lb 7oz.
Then on the 6th January 1995, you were once again delighted with another granddaughter Kirsty weighing in at 8lb 1oz.
Then on the 28th August 1998, you were over the moon when your youngest daughter Jacqueline gave birth to twins. Craig weighing in at 6lb 1.5oz and Lisa at 6lb 7oz.
You were the proud papa of four lovely grandchildren, Jacqueline, Kirsty,Craig and Lisa, who will always say your Simply The Best!!
